CUTMaster AIR 270 SE with 2 x RollMaster Super Plus

The L-shaped cutting table was prepared according to the customer’s design – a manufacturer of quilts and pillows.

The client needed to speed up the process of cutting covers for duvets and pillows. He wanted to unwind many layers from a wide roll, then format them to exact sizes with minimum time spent on handling the material.

Solution

As he came with a planned project, we only had to adapt it to our production standards and suggest some practical improvements.

We based it on CUTMaster AIR spreading machine combined with two RollMaster format cutting tables.

The first section is used to spread multiple layers along the table. Operators then slide the stack along the table to the cutting stations. Two cutters positioned at 90° to each other cut rectangles to size without having to rotate the stack.

Final Result

We replaced the customer’s single-station table with a three-station L-shaped machine.

Previously, operators pulled material from the roll and cut each piece individually with a hand knife. Now they stack multiple layers, move them quickly using the air cushion to the first station where they’re cut to length, then slide the stack right to the second cutter for the final dimension.

The result was a triple increase in productivity.
